Participants really enjoy the relaxed and welcoming nature of U Yoga sessions.
I set up UYoga, initially by myself, to offer Hatha Yoga classes in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
My aim is to allow participants to develop their own individual practise within a supportive group setting.
My yoga classes are holistic and incorporate meditation, relaxation
and breath practice as well as the physical poses.
Classes are planned each weak with care and always have a different focus.
I also offer 2 x 45min strength training sessions a week to support healthy muscles, bones and minds!
I am thrilled to now be collaborating with Lucy, who has a different training background to me, and brings so much more variety to what UYoga offers.
Current Hatha Yoga classes are at Seaton URC Hall in Cross St. on Mondays 6.15pm and at Axmouth Village Hall on Tuesdays at 10.30am, then at Marshlands Seaton on Wednesdays 6pm with Lucy. Lucy is starting a new class at Marshlands in Seaton at 9.30am to 11am on Thursdays from 14th November 2024.

Nicola’s classes are a great mix of strength, flow, breathing and relaxation l Love my weekly sessions. Definitely recommend!
Soothing, relaxing music throughout the session. Love the fact that cosy blankets etc. are provided for the relaxation part. Good mix of activities, clearly explained and Nicola is very aware of how to make things easier or harder if necessary. A very good weekly yoga session and relaxation.
I didn't start yoga until later in life. I went along for some gentle exercise, curious to see what it was all about. I loved it instantly, and felt it kind of re-awakened the child in me. The thing I loved the most was the level of engagement I experienced, which allowed me feel a peacefulness and sense of calm that I don't think I'd felt as an adult. I have a busy headspace and am by nature an overthinker. When I was at yoga I saw a glimpse of an inner stillness that I never knew existed before.
I trained with GXT and am fully insured to teach group exercise classes and personal fitness instruction and I have a Level 4 Diploma in teaching Yoga (RQF) awarded by Focus Awards who are Ofqual regulated. This is equivalent to a 350 hour training, and incorporates standard fitness instruction elements such as Physiology and Anatomy Level 3. I am currently studying Movement Science with The Bristol School of Yoga which includes yoga For back pain and yoga for women's health.
I qualified in 2021 and study continuously to improve and develop my teaching.
I first went to a yoga class about 30 years ago, totally by accident. I was looking for a Chi Gung or a Tai Chi class when I moved to Winchester, couldn’t find one and tried a yoga class instead. Over the next 20 years or so, I dipped into the 3 disciplines, and tried many styles of yoga including Ivengar, Kundalini and Hatha, fitting around my “busy” lifestyle. During lockdown, along with so many people, I practised yoga through online classes and developed a daily self - practise. I then decided to deepen my knowledge and understanding of yoga and to live a more yogic life and signed up for the teacher training course with The Devon School of Yoga. I’ve known from day one how powerful yoga is and how it can help us to live a peaceful, healthy and happy life, and felt I would like to share this with others. Yoga for me is a holistic practice incorporating work with the body, mind, and spirit and its benefits manifest themselves in every situation in life.
